Hello all, I had a problem with my slim ps3 where the disc would not eject after letting my son use it in his room for a few days. I have no idea how this happened but I decided to take my ps3 apart to remove the disc. I managed to get it out but after rebuilding it the ps3 would no longer accept discs. Upon reopening the ps3 and a little fiddling around I managed to get the console to accept discs again. I think something had become misalined, however i am not sure whether I did this removing the disc. Anyway the console now accepts discs and I thought great, I have fixed it. Wrong! It now takes the disc (I have only tried games and DVDs, not CDs) the disc spins, the laser works (I can see it through the disc) and it ejects perfectly fine. In fact the drive seems to be working perfectly however nothing will load. In fact to look at the screen it appears nothing is happening at all. Nothing appears in the xmb and the clock in the top right hand corner no longer spins to indicate it is reading the disc. I have read here about faulty logic boards and damaged ribbons but I am unsure what exactly should be my next move? Please help, Thank you I did not find the right solution from the internet References : psx-scene.com/forums/f177/drive-problem-125289/Technology Explainer Video
